 Preliminary Round of the EuroLeague:
the title-holders VK Primorac Kotor are facing a real death
group. The Montenegrins are playing two other medal contenders, VK
Jug "Croatia Osiguranje" Dubrovnik from Croatia and Hungary´s national
champion Vasas Budapest. Italian champion Pro Recco got a pretty much easy
group, but will have to travel to Russia twice. The draw procedure was held on November 15th in Zagreb, Croatia during a big leading European clubs meeting .

In the round of last 16 in the Men´s LEN Trophy the reigning
title-holders of Szegedi VE “Beton” already said good bye in a
close encounter at the end of the two narrow games. In the second
leg-matches head coach Zoltan Kasas´ players only achieved a 7-7 tie in
the all-Hungarian clash against FTC Budapest, but the players from Budapest had taken a narrow 10-9 victory in the first match.
Only
one club was able to convert a loss in the away match into a victory in
the aggregate. German champion Spandau 04 gained an 8-4 victory against
the Greek representative Vouliagmeni NC. In the first-leg clash, the
club from Berlin still had suffered a 6-8 loss, but today head coach
Nebojsa Novoselac´ players downed the Athenians in the second half by
four goals thanks to a great performance by a 41-year-old Alexander
Tchigir.
Former EuroLeague CN Posillipo had to say
good-bye as well. The famous team from Naples gained a 7-5 victory
against Romanian champion CSM “Frigoconti” Oradea in regulation to
level the aggregate after two matches, but in extra-time the Romanians
scored the two decisive goals to advance to the quarter-finals of this
competition for the third time in history.

Two more water polo matches were played, whose results count
for Eurointer league.
Kosice Hornets have made little surprise and won Vasas 14:12
(4:4, 3:3, 4:2, 3:3), and in Budapest, Ferencvaros and Eger played a draw 6:6 (1:4, 4:0, 1:2, 0:1).
Eger
has started well and led 2-0, but Ferecvaros managed to reverse the result. At
the end of the third part was 6-4. However, guests from Eger managed to equalize in the last part of
the score and win the point.
Scorers for the Ferencvaros were: Veselovski 2, Dunka,
Balatoni, M. Tot, and Steinmetz, and Eger:
Hegedis 2, Graham, Baranya, Varga and Biros.

A big meeting of waterpolo officials will be held this weekend in
Zagreb, Croatia, the hosting city of the 2010 European Waterpolo
Championships. Once a year, the representatives of the leading European
clubs are coming together, and this event will also be used for
important draw procedures. First, this will be the draws for the
prestigious Preliminary Round matches of the EuroLeague, which will be
contested in four groups on a home and away basis. Second, the draws
for the round of last 16 clashes in the Men´s LEN Trophy will be done
where pure knock-out matches are played again. The procedure will be
held on Sunday at noon.
